Last summer Gracie came home screaming because someones dog had chased her on her bike. My kids for some reason are terrified of dogs. I decided that I would take them to the pet stores so they could get use to dogs. Well we went 3 times and every time Gracie would leave crying because she wanted a puppy. Joe and I talked and decided that if Gracie was serious she would have to earn the money for the adoption fee down at the local Animal Care and Control, which was $85.00. We talked to Gracie about it and she immediately went back to her room and moments later came out with a container that read "Dog Fund". She was serious. During the next 5 months anytime she earned money or lost a tooth (which i think was 4 during that time) she would put it in the container. Even when we had family over for occasions she would ask them if they would like to donate to her dog fund. Well, come January she had raised or earned the $85.00. So we went to the Animal Care and Control just to see what they had and left there empty handed twice before we all fell in love with our Cinnamon. She is a 4 month old Viszla/Lab mix, weighing 25lbs.
